Provost Assistants in Higher Education National Association

Now Accepting Registrations for March 2017 meeting.

Registrations (between July 1 and September 30) will include a two-year membership in this national organization

PAHENA IS . . . the Provost’s Assistants in Higher Education, National Association:  PAHENA is the first professional development and national networking opportunity specifically for academic affairs administrators who support Chief Academic Officers from all categories of accredited higher education institutions.

By way of background - November 2015, PAHENA held its first official meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana,

while Provost’s attended APLU sessions. The very successful and productive inaugural meeting, sponsored by Clemson University, prompted plans to reconnect annually, when the following groups hold their annual meetings:

Association of Chief Academic Officers (ACAO);

National Association of Presidential Assistants in Higher Education (NAPAHE)

and the American Council on Education (ACE).

PAHENA Offers . . . the opportunity for academic affairs professionals to contribute to, and benefit from quality programming relevant to the effective management of Academic Affairs organizations. PAHENA is a supporting and productive environment where PAs can build professional networks and relationships regionally and nationally.

Your participation in PAHENA is an investment in the effectiveness of Academic Affairs professionals nationally.

As a PAHENA registered participant during the period July 1, 2016 through September 30, 2016,
 you and your institution will become a member of PAHENA for the next two years allowing you to:

  • Begin connecting with other PAs regionally and nationally;
  • Participate in the selection and election of PAHENA’s inaugural board (this will take place in early November)
  • Contribute to the creation of the solid foundation necessary for an effective and relevant national organization;
  • Build the March 2017 meeting agenda which is in draft form (this will take place in early December)
  • Be a member of PAHENA for not one but two years (membership dues to be officially begun in July 2017)

Registration application fees paid beginning October 1, 2016 will only provide PAs attendance at the March 2017 conference and will not waive the annual membership fee which PAHENA will begin accepting in July 2017

Currently we are working with the host facility in Washington DC to establish a room block so rooming information will be provided on or around October 1
