Advisory CouncilOBJECTIVES & SCOPE The Advisory Council serves as an advocate for ACAO and its goals, acting as a resource to the ACAO Board of Directors. In this role, the Council provides informed, non-binding, informal guidance on issues raised by the ACAO President, the BOD and/or the Executive Director. This advisory capacity is facilitated bу ongoing communication between the ACAO Board and the Council through both the Executive Director and the Chair of the Advisory Council. The Advisory Council chair participates in monthly BOD teleconferences and provides Council updates to the BOD. The Council organizes and executes, with BOD approval, finite projects that assist ACAO in fulfilling the core mission and strategic objectives of the organization. Of particular interest to the Council is identifying and supporting activities that increase exchange of information related to day-to-day and long-range challenges of the CAO position. MEMBERSHIP Former membership in ACAO is preferred, but not required. Similarly, maintaining ACAO Emeritus member status, at the requisite annual rate, is preferred but not required. Honorific status may be awarded at the discretion of the ACAO BOD to those Council members who have served with distinction but cease active participation on the Council. An informal nomination process allows the ACAO President, BOD members, the Council, or the Executive Director and current Council Members to recruit members.
